With an ever  increasing global-market demand for whiter and brighter paper, the role of Optical Brightening Agents (OBA) in shade control programmes has become  pivotal. Whilst regarded by some in the past as a commodity additive, optical  brightening technology has evolved into a highly specialised technical field  that is able to be customised to service each paper system individually and  provide significant performance and financial  benefits.
